The Dovedale Restaurant is set within the magnificent Barcelo Buxton Palace Hotel in the centre of Buxton and commands beautiful views over the historic town. Built in 1868 and designed by Henry Currey, who was then the architect of the Duke of Derbyshire, the Dovedale has a fabulous interior and is a much-loved focal point of Buxton’s culture, where everyone wants to stay when they’re in town.
The restaurant continues the classic surroundings with beautiful décor, and areas with soft furnishings to sit and relax with an aperitif. The cuisine on offer is modern British and uses the very best of fresh seasonal produce from the surrounding countryside and is as beautifully executed as the surroundings. The Table d’hote menu offers Braised Brisket of Beef marinated in red wine, garlic and thyme for diners looking for a taste of Derbyshire, and for fish eaters Tempura of Hake promises to be excellent.
The Buxton Palace Hotel has all the facilities you would expect from a top class hotel and has vast capabilities for event hosting or even beautiful wedding receptions for up to 320 guests.
With 3 course menus for £25 the dining experience is perfect for those looking for a real taste of Derbyshire with a touch of traditional class.
