One of the handful of Northamptonshire restaurants recommended in the Michelin Guide for the last three years, Dangs is also Northampton’s only Vietnamese restaurant and brings a breath of fresh air onto the local restaurant scene. Opened in 2007 it already has a great reputation for fresh and tasty cuisine and friendly atmosphere. What's more Hao Dang has just won 'Best Curry Chef' of the year 2010/2011 at the Northamptonshire Food awards in recognition of her fine skills. Hao has also just won the runner up prize in the 'Booker Chef of the Year' 2011/12 in the Northamptonshire food and drink awards.
On entrance to the restaurant you will receive a warm welcome from owner Hao Dang who has drawn on her 30 years of experience of catering to present her Vietnamese food in a way that is authentic but accessible. She describes Vietnamese food to those who’ve never tasted it as “a cross between Chinese and Thai”. The menus have English explanations of each dish and even tell you how to pronounce the Vietnamese dish names. The basement level restaurant is beautifully decorated with family painted canvases and Vietnamese artefacts with a rich and cosy atmosphere.
The food though is the star of the show and looking at the food images above you can see why. If you can’t pick a starter from the varied selection, the sharing platter with spicy wings and handmade spring rolls, vegetarian dumplings and seafood fishcakes is ideal. Beautiful main dishes such as Ca hup - Whole Steamed Sea Bass sits beautifully with fresh produce of all colours, the specially collected herbs and spices fusing with freshly cooked chilli and Pak Choi. Traditional Vietnamese whole meal noodle soups make for a fantastic, warming dish for the winter months, and there are even a few well executed English dishes or the less adventurous.
Situated on Wellingborough Road only a short distance from Northampton town centre with on-street parking to the front, Dang’s is the ideal choice for a great night out.
Now that Dangs is listed in Michelin, tables are more in demand than ever, so book online to avoid disappointment and receive text message confirmation.

Again as last time, from the outside it is not the most inviting, however, the restaurant is downstairs. The food and service was excellent.

Where as the food was good and good value, the resturant is lacking something. The menu isn't very comprehensive which is ok a times, but after being told my meal wasnt the chefs recommedation, it became a little boring half way through. Will try it again though.

The food was freshly cooked, light and fresh. Service was excellent. Would definitely eat there again even though the lighting is a bit harsh.

This restaurant is fantastic! The service was excellent and the food is amazing, especially the soups which we both had as a main course. For two courses each and a few bottles of beer for less than £45.00, I can't fault the place! We'll definitely be going back.

Really good food and service - nice easy to understand menu and liked the 'pronounciation' assistance in the menu to try and talk Vietnamese - much to the annoyance of my wife! Ambience not great, but I suppose adds to the character. Will go back!

Was not the sort of Vietnamise food I'd had before, but was very good in its own right. Very solicitous service.

This was my first experience of vietnamese food - and will not be my last. The Soups are particularly tasty and not too spicey for those don't like their food too hot - the tender beef slices were also pretty impressive. The portions were not huge so you may need more than one main course each.

Whilst the food was as good as on previuos occaisions we felt a bit rushed throughout our meal, firstly to order and then towards the end when the table was attempted to be cleared beforeall of our group had finished eating. We will still go again however
