Chops City Steakhouse (Nottingham)
Family owned Chops City Steakhouse brings the very best steaks and lobster to Nottingham, inspired by the owners’ travels in Florida, enjoying excellent surf and turf fare.
Nottingham born Mark and Tracey Tatler have paid attention to every detail when creating their new restaurant. The imposing wooden bar invites customers to relax with cocktails in the bar area before being tempted through to the dining area by the scents of seared meat. The Tatler's have used their experience of many fine dining restaurants to include the best of each, in a modern atmosphere with attentive but unfussy service, filling a gap in the Nottingham steak scene.
Italian born chef Alexander Furno has helped create a special menu and added charisma in abundance when it comes to presentation. Finest cuts of fillet are served sizzling on hot stone tablets with elegant side dishes that give the restaurant one of its unique features.
This restaurant is the fulfilment of a long held dream for Tracy: "The other night, the candles were lit, the lights were dimmed, and we were just so proud and amazed that this vision we had in our head had come about."

Really lovely tasty lobster! And nice very reasonably priced sides and sauces. Place looks good, but unfortunately it was deserted, and it was a really big room, so this slightly affected the atmosphere. However, it was a Tuesday night after Valentine's day, so I guess this would have been the case anywhere. Good value Champagne cocktails definitely helped though! Would definitely go again.

Chops more than lived up to my expectations! The choice and quality of food on the menu was fantastic and we will definitely return to try a few more of the dishes. My only criticism would be the lack of atmosphere, due to the restaurant being almost empty (which I suppose can be expected post-New Year).

We loved this restaurant as it was not pretentious and we love good steaks. So Chateaubriand on the menu is a dream as most restaurants wont serve fillet let alone a whole one. They had quite a few problems with staff letting them down hence the bad mark for service (I believe 2 didnt turn in) which was a shame. Apparently loads of staff on in kitchen although we did still wait a long for our starters - fantastic when they arrived. Probably waited too long for drinks aswell. But will definitely be going back again - and as they Chateaubriand for one I might try something different. We wish them all the best - cant wait to go back.
