Hambleton Hall to Host Wine Tasting With Roy Richards

Hambleton Hall, set in the picturesque countryside of Rutland, is pleased to announce a very special date for your diaries.
On Thursday 19th January, you are invited to attend a wine tasting held by Roy Richards, a highly respected authority on wine. Roy’s day job is sourcing wines for the UK’s leading wine merchants and independent retailers. He spends most of the year roaming the wine producing areas of France.
Some years ago, Roy became sufficiently enthused by the untapped potential of certain cooler parts of the Roussillon to establish his own vineyard there; ‘Le Soula’. Le Soula’s wines were met with instant acclaim and Hambleton Hall have been fans of the impressive mineral wines for some time. Initially the red wines were less convincing but the recently uncorked vintages have suggested that La Soula has a great deal of potential in this direction.
At this dinner, Roy will be sharing his wine making experiences with tales from his ventures in the South West. To accompany his talk he has also very kindly brought along, amongst other things, a top wine from the cult figure of the region Gerard Gauby and a top Collioure from the Parcé brothers.
The event will be held at Hambleton Hall on the 19th January and costs £95 per person which is inclusive of a 12.5% service charge. The dress code is ‘Dinner Jacket’ and guests are required to arrive at the venue from 7:30pm when aperitifs will be served. You will be seated at 8:15pm sharp and are encouraged to arrive well before this time to ensure the maximum from the event.
If you are interested in booking a table for the wine tasting night you can call the restaurant direct on 0116 290 2224 or book online by visiting our Hambleton Hall page. Happy dining!
