Independently owned by Mark and Max, the duo have strived to create a venue that offers exciting and experimental British and European dishes for very reasonable prices.

The dining room is sophisticated and elegant and adds a touch of class to any occasion with its neutral colour palette and well thought out layout. The menu at Ashmore’s changes every four weeks to showcase the very finest and freshest local produce. This not only ensures that you are enjoying their menu choices at their prime, but also that there is something new to try every time you visit. When available, there are a number of dishes that come highly recommended including the salmon dumplings starter served with a tomato and basil sauce and the deliciously delightful Parma ham salad with peaches, pecans and stilton. For mains, grilled monkfish with a leek and mushroom sauce or the pork escalope stuffed with pistachio and apricots with a brandy sauce is both a treat for the eyes and the taste buds. Warm and friendly service accompanies every dish and, despite the fabulous surroundings and fine cuisine, the prices are incredibly reasonable.

Went to Ashmore's for Valentine's Day however, the journey there took us an hour longer than it should have due to an accident on the road earlier in the day. Called the restaurant to let them know and they were fine with moving our reservation back. Food was of a high quality and decent sized portions. Had a nice ambiance with suitable music playing. Toilet for the men was a single toilet. Overall a pleasant evening especially given the trek it took to get there.
